URUMQI, China, June 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- With the ongoing development of Xinjiang's energy strategic base, new energy has experienced rapid growth. By June 2025, the installed capacity of new energy reached 130 million kilowatts. State Grid Xinjiang Information & Telecommunication Company has actively explored the application of big data technology to support new energy development and enhance its consumption.
Based on the State Grid Xinjiang Energy Big Data Center, the company has focused on data analysis to address key challenges in new energy development and utilization under the context of rapid industry expansion. By collecting extensive operational data from over 900 new energy stations, meteorological forecasts from 14 different sources, as well as regional topography, load characteristics, and industrial development data across Xinjiang, a comprehensive data resource pool for new energy analysis has been established.
Through in-depth study of short-term variations in wind, solar, and meteorological conditions in Xinjiang, the company has developed a power prediction model tailored to the region's climatic features. As a result, the overall accuracy rate of power forecasting across the grid has exceeded 95%. Using load scale, grid conditions, and new energy installation plans as boundary constraints, an evaluation model for new energy consumption strategies has been constructed to assess the effectiveness of implemented measures.
The company has innovatively analyzed new energy development from four dimensions: "resources - operations - history - planning," integrating multi-source data aggregation, fusion analysis, visualization, and data empowerment. It has also developed a flexible data application solution encompassing large-screen monitoring, PC-based analytics, and mobile access. This achievement was awarded the Gold Prize at the 50th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, enabling energy managers to monitor real-time developments, current operations, historical trends, and future planning of new energy resources, thereby effectively promoting the transformation of Xinjiang's resource advantages and supporting the construction of a new power system.
Looking ahead, the Information and Communication Company will further explore the value of energy and power data elements, generate more impactful big data applications, drive innovation in the smart grid and new power system construction, and contribute to Xinjiang's digital economic development and energy transition.
